Mrs. Marie Joanna Sandrina Baptiste, aged 42, planter, inhabitant of Quatre Bornes, has been arrested on 05 February 2026 following a joint investigation conducted with the ADSU in connection with suspected money laundering activities, in alleged breach of sections 36(1)(b) and 38 of the Financial Crimes Commission Act 2023.
Search operations were conducted at multiple premises associated with Mrs. Baptiste, resulting in the seizure of various vehicles and motorcycles valued at over MUR 1 million:
- Two Motorcycles make Yamaha
- A BMW Msport
- A Mazda, Double PickUp
- A Quad
- A Trotinette electric
- A Scooter model CROX 150
This operation demonstrates the FCC’s ongoing commitment to disrupting the financial proceeds of crime and dismantling networks that facilitate money laundering activities.
This operation also shows the close collaboration among law enforcement agencies and, in this particular case, between the Mauritius Police Force and the FCC.
