To mark Global Ethics Day 2025, the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC) collaborated with ACCA Mauritius and Transparency Mauritius to host an interactive workshop on Tuesday, 14 October 2025, at the FCC Headquarters in Moka.
The workshop brought together around 80 ACCA members for discussions on ethics and professional conduct, particularly in the fight against financial crimes.
Mr. I. Rossaye, Acting Chief Officer – Public Relations at the FCC, delivered a presentation titled “Fighting Financial Crimes and Upholding Ethics.” He outlined the FCC’s role as the central authority responsible for preventing, investigating, and raising awareness about financial crimes. He discussed major offences such as corruption, money laundering, and fraud, and explained how strong ethical values serve as a first line of defence against such misconduct. Mr. Rossaye also emphasised the importance of reporting unethical behaviour, reminding professionals of their duty to act with integrity and contribute to national efforts against financial crimes.
Mrs. L. Jaymangal, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Transparency Mauritius, presented on “Ethics and Integrity: Professional Standards in Action.” She underscored how personal values and accountability help foster a culture of integrity in the workplace. Her presentation explored themes such as ethics in decision-making, the ACCA Code of Ethics and Conduct, and the concept of ethical dilemmas. She also shared practical insights on how integrity can be demonstrated daily through conscious decisions and consistent ethical behaviour, encouraging participants to uphold ethical standards both personally and professionally.
The FCC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct across all sectors.
